Why does anyone do what? HTML email in general? Something else?
HTML email. At least hand-coded ones. It's a very different beast.
I'm an old curmudgeon, so I kinda think HTML has been a scourge on email. If I want to see web pages, I'll use a web browser. Never mind the fact that every single email client seems to render HTML email different, making it a crap shoot to design for.
