Really nice work, however this is a funny inconsistency:
Good catch! We'll get that fixed. Thanks!
I'm seeing indigo text links used in a handful of other sections and I think your guidelines have appropriately shunned it because they are indeed uncomfortable to detect.
More and more thinking they have one of the best teams around.
I'd love to hear about Shopify Sans. Any insights?
Indeed! We're going to publish a long form piece detailing the rationale and design process behind Shopify Sans over at ux.shopify.com. Stay tuned.
Shopify just set the bar so high. This is so well done, well thought out, and just flat out awesome. The presentation is great.
I agree. I also appreciate that they kept everything very short and simple. No long form philosophical rants about design. Just practical, honest logic supporting their choices.
What makes this better than most other design systems is it frames components around a problem and solutions, and suggests alternatives. It explains the 'what, why, when, where & how'. Most design systems I've seen just present you with a bunch of components and code snippets, which is far less helpful.
I am curious in how many have been working with this, and how it is maintained. :) Looks really good and covers the most of styleguides I've seen so far. Will definitely be used for inspiration!
Wow! Thanks so much for posting this. I'm so proud of the team that built this. We're really excited to see it make merchant lives better as all of our products — and the apps in our ecosystem — start to adopt it.
Really appreciate the section on clear writing.
This is very well done Shopify team!
Amazing! We're actually working on our own design system right now at Procurify. This is providing some great inspiration!
