I mustache you a question.
I'm all ears ;)
... but he'll shave it for later
We're hiring a number of designers across User Experience and Product Design disciplines, and I want to make sure our next hires push our team forward. I made this video for you. Take a look, and if you feel like we're on the same page, you can apply here.
Great idea to show the team and the culture in the company. I hope you find the right peep to join your family :)
P.S. I'm a big Flinto fan and I ran across one of your tutorials on YouTube the other day while I was doing some research. Keep up the good work!
Is 'apple here' a new industry term that I've missed?
Bahaha thanks for pointing that out. Updated! I suppose I've outed myself as an Apple fanboy ;)
Ssssh, I'm a bit of an Apple fanboy too, keep it to yourself :-o
Good luck with the hiring.
Interesting that you break out UX & product designers into different roles. Is the idea that UX is more research-oriented, while product means UI & visual folks?
Yup! Of course there's lots of nuances, but at a high level UX leans towards the low-fidelity, research end of the spectrum while Product Designers push towards the high-fidelity, execution end of the spectrum. The fun part is there's lots of room for collaboration in the middle.
@Eric: Actually I've seen studio's go even further: User Researchers, Visual Designers (brand, story), Motion/Interaction designers and User Interface designers (whom require a base level of UX knowledge to prevent obvious errors such as placeholders (https://www.nngroup.com/articles/form-design-placeholders/))
Awesome video, keeping it real like that is a great way to recruit people that fit your culture I think, and will most likely prevent you from hiring people that turn out to be less than an idea fit a couple of months in. Best of luck in your search!
That's the hope. And thanks for the wishes Tom!
Awesome idea, I hope you find the people you need.
Thanks Cristian, glad you enjoyed :)
Aw, I wish I was looking right now! This vid rules!
Keep in touch. Positions open up pretty regularly.
Also, I saw you work for Critical Mass. They actually invested in us recently in an effort to support us in our vision to redefine what "agency" means to folks. Small world!
I certainly will keep in touch!
That's p rad re: CM stuff. I'd love to hear more about that. I'll shoot you a PM on twitter?
I would give you a thumbs up emoji, but Designer News doesn't support them yet >.<
