Amsterdam's flag is awesome:
Japan's flags are wonderfully simple and bold.
It's trendy, so I'm also opting for Amsterdam.
I've always loved how sinister the flag of Albania looks.
I'm a huge fan of the flag of the Tokyo Prefecture.
I love this flag! The flag for Fukuoka is a close second for me, something about the weaving nature of it. (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/71/Flag_of_Fukuoka_Prefecture.svg)
Wow! Both are beautiful, I've never seen these before so thanks for sharing!
Pop pop!
This flag is streets ahead of any other flag. If you don't agree you're streets behind.
Relevant and worth rewatching every single time. ❤️
Lofa County in Liberia:
and the rest of the Liberian county flags: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Liberia
Such art!
Much wow!
Chicago's is great.
I really dig the Swiss national flag
Maryland
black flag is pretty awesome...
I've always appreciated Portland's flag, indicating its location where the two rivers meet as well as the city quadrants.
I'm a big fan of the Canadian flag. It's simple, unique and instantly recognisable.
There's a proposed flag for my country of Australia, the Golden Wattle flag, that I'm quite fond of for the same reasons:
Even though I'm fond of the southern cross, this does pretty nice and very easy to adapt to state flags.
The southern cross is a good symbol on it's own (although I do feel like it's been co-opted a bit by racist bogans, along with the current flag itself) but the current Australian flag looks just like any other former British colony. It'd be nice to have a flag that actually has our national colours on it, too.
Actually, while we're on proposed flags, I like the New Zealand "Red Peak" one too, although it doesn't feel as iconic as the Canadian flag is or Golden Wattle could be.
Maybe i'm blind, never seen the southern cross being used in such as way, but hey it happens. At least this wattle flag could match the olympics team colours. My OCD hates seeing the two together.
The bold shapes on the NZ is great. Stands out. Hard to miss.
Brazil, Japan, Milwaukee
Whoa, this looks like something ISO50/Tycho would have made.
Hopefully they make this the official Milwaukee flag! It's still waiting to be approved by the city. The previous flag has been voted one of the worst flags in America.
I choose Angola´s flag... It´s pretty badass... Bold Colours, communist inspired layout and a freaking machete as an icon....
Laser Kiwi!
Bayern
Canada
Chicago / DC are obvious ones that spring to mind.
I absolutely love the DC flag.
a pirate flag?
I really like the Philippines flag. It serves a functional purpose, when flown with red on top it means the country is in a state of war. When blue is on top it's in a time of peace. https://images4.alphacoders.com/184/184246.jpg
Portugal flag 10/10 – great symbolism, and contains an Armillary sphere.
Madison, Wisconsin has a great flag and design and story:
My favorites are
Wichita, KS is pretty amazing. The Native American Symbol from inside the circle is used in so many different designs around the city.
Black Flag. Because I like my type bolder than bold (soz, really tenuous)
Best: Japan
Worst: Belarus (new style)
Belarus' old one to compare:
