triggered by the scroll jacking. I cant believe, people still do that.

But besides that, I think the website is beautiful. I am in love with this font.

The scroll-jacking caught me out because its so delayed I wasn't sure what was going on at first.

The custom letter treatments for each project are neat although it reminded me of what the agency Huge does on their site.

Gday, I'm running some tests with Browserstack at the moment and am not seeing any issues with scrolling on win8 and 8.1 in Firefox. If you can email through some more details we can test further - dan@humaan.com.au

Also, if you are seeing any errors appear in the developer tools console, please chuck them in the email as well.

      Cheers!

        Hey Dan,

I just played again to find the cause. After some time, I figured I have to Scroll the Mouse wheel faster than superman to make it scroll. (really fast and really long)

Virtual test platforms has some limitations like this :)

        Great job otherwise!

Ok awesome, thanks for the feedback. I'll take that info to the other devs here and we'll see what can be done to improve that experience. Cheers!

God damn that sidebar menu is slow as molasses. Let's hurry it up already with your silly opacity animations.

Also, when the menu comes in on a 1024x768 sized browser, a vertical scrollbar appears for seemingly no reason. There is plenty of space to display all the data without a scroll. That tells me that the bottom padding or some div container is larger than it needs to be. At a very minimum, you shouldn't have a vertical scroll bar on that browser size.

I would say that your choice of highlight for which page of your website you are currently viewing has terrible contrast and is confusing. In other areas of your website you use a thin 1 or 2 px underline that tells you which page you are on. I would love to see that idea be brought over into the header of the website.

Removing the placeholder text for the input field to enter your email or newsletter is poor form when it comes to UX standards. And since that component is modeled heavily after Google's Material Design, you should just steal their input interaction method that they created to solve this problem. An example can be found here: https://codepen.io/sevilayha/full/IdGKH/

Your "Approach" section on the "Expertise" page is a complete mess. You have some sort of image slider with no usable controls other than some microscopic dots. It needs large, easy to click, back and forth arrows...Maybe just show them only on hover...Also the image slider itself is broken. There are dots that just load a blank screen with no content. I also have no idea the relationship of the menu on the left hand side has with the image slider. The phrase "Quality Through Culture" wraps on a 1024x768 screen....So the word "Quality Through" is one line and "Culture" is another line and the leading between the two makes it look like they are two separate items in the list. Fix the leading if it wraps.

The "What We Do/What We Don't" Section is odd and the copy is poor. "What we do" make sense because the sentence ends with "do". The sentence in the other column ends with "don't"....So your negative list reads like this: - What we don't fax - What we don't resist cake

The negative list should be title "What we don't do"

Also, why cross out the title of the list and nothing else? I would put a strike-through on every single item in the negative list. It makes more sense, raises less questions. Plus, it puts more focus on the positive list.

    And....yah scroll jacking is terrible.

There are some kinks to work out but overall, I like the site. Keep fine tuning and good luck!

I agree re: the menu animation speed. Could easily double the speed of that without losing the buttery animations.

Very nice, been showing my friends humaan for ages. I'm in Perth too, always wanted to have a gig there.

Reminds me of the old flash pages. These pages did useless stuff like that. Its a good watch but if you highjack the scroll thats not the goal. Because you can do that it doesn`t mean it is good. Like Tim mentioned the delay on the scroll is really confusing and the effect of the page suffers from that. But it looks nice, but thats it.

The other pages are designed really well and thoughtful. Thumbs up!

I usually love Jay Hollywood's stuff, but whats with the scroll jacking?! Blows me away that:

    a) people still do it

    b) it get's past any sort of testing phase?

The scroll jack issue is not too bad for me in Chrome on Mac. The delay at the start of the animation is a little long and the sensitivity a little low, but after the first action it all makes sense.

Maybe a scroll position indicator would be good. There is no sign that the page continues beyond the initial screen, but it seems everyone here has worked it out so probably not an issue.

The site is beautiful though. The animations and page transitions are great. The way the menu works is a brilliant touch. Illustrations in the blog are mini-masterpieces on their own. Really top notch. It is reminiscent of other sites but I don't think that matters when the level of quality is so high.

I resized my browser window and it seemed to break the site.

The website looks good, but the scroll hijacking fails a lot when resizing the screen. You can end up with some of the 2nd section content on the top one. This is one of the reasons I hate when I browse websites where the scroll is hijacked.

Looks like too many people had an input. Too many ideas and no consistency across the site. You have some nice elements - home page & meet the team spring to mind.

I personally am not deterred from scroll jacking. My only quarrel is when it's executed poorly. Felt like I was fighting with my scroller to get anywhere and then the sudden shift to regular scrolling completely threw me off.

Absolutely stunning! In love with the animations and your About page. Also, I nerdgasmed upon hovering over the Humaan logo.
