This is great! I've been wondering why wasn't there a good alternative to Sketch Toolbox. It looks great, I love that you added auto-update, version lock, and it makes sense to have it in the menu bar.

My only nitpick is that it didn't recognize the plugins I already had installed. So I had to re-install them via your app so that they would appear on the list :)

Thanks for the feedback Pablo. We'll definitely be looking into a better first-time experience in regards to recognizing plugins not installed via Sketchpacks.

In the process of reinstalling my plugins, many of the version #s are showing as 0.0.0. Just FYI. Also I'm having some trouble using search with more than 1 word.

    Really useful tool though

Many of the plugins actually don't provide a valid semantic version, which is why you'll see plugins with a version of 0.0.0.

Once plugins start providing valid manifest.json files in their plugin, we'll be able to index them with greater accuracy in data.

Sketchpacks Relay will only work with plugins that have valid manifest.json files.

Plugins that are not yet integrated with Sketchpacks Relay will only be re-indexed to check for updates about once a day. We might make the frequency of re-indexing happen more often, but we wouldn't benefit from having real-time plugin updates.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Just another thing to report: after having sketchpacks running for about a day it is (the helper app) taking up quite a bit of memory. 1.8gb. Seems... pretty high? I have 12 plugins installed through it.

          Hey Jared,

We've identified the issue causing this slow climb in memory consumption.

Good news is that it is independent of how many plugins you have installed.

          We'll be fixing it ASAP.

          Again, thanks for the feedback!

Great idea! I've been using and enjoying Sketch Toolbox, which is not without it's own idiosyncrasies.

    My thoughts:

    • I already have a bunch of plugins installed, kind of a bummer if I have to reinstall them through Sketchpacks...
    • Not keen on yet another icon in my status bar... it's getting full up there!

      Alex,

      Good points.

I agree it is a bummer needing to re-install them through Sketchpacks, but this was how we would get auto-updates working (at least for right now). Perhaps we'll devise a better way soon enough.

My menu bar is getting pretty full too, so I definitely feel you on that one.

      Thanks for the feedback!

I was wondering when would someone take up where Sketch Toolbox left. Better plugin management is really needed for Sketch. I was thinking Bohemian Coding themselves would introduce something, though until then your app seems like the best option out there.

Really like it so far, a few suggestions and wishes from me:

    • As others mentioned, it's pretty annoying that you have to reinstall all the plugins, as they aren't recognised.

    • I really wish you would introduce somekind of Sync feature in the future, as it's really annoying to manage plugins when you work with Sketch on two computers.

    Great job so far.

      Thanks Andrius.

Importing existing plugins is a bit tricky since not all plugins are installed the same way.

We're currently investigating how might we be able to accomplish this.

      Thanks for the feedback!

    THIS IS AWESOME!

Sketch toolbox solves for one use case...easily download sketch plugins in one place. It lacked core abilities to search and filter. Sketchpacks fills in many of those gaps. I see a ton of potential for this. Not to mention the design is very pleasing to the eye.

The key things highlighted by the creator Automatic Updates and Version Locking is particularly useful because you can always stay up to date with the latest plugins and version locking will help with issues that arise with bugs. As a designer, having a seamless uninterrupted workflow is what helps me get shit done!

    Yay! Keep at it!

Great one, Adam! One question: does it sync across computers? Or will it in the future? :)
