It's extremely confusing to me. Upper-right nav, zero hierarchy and a severe lack of visual consistency. Sponsored content vs. Advertisements vs. Actual content. Eyes bleeding.

I agree. This is one of the most confusing and disorienting redesigns I've seen in a while. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I believe you shouldn't have to teach your readers how to navigate.

seems like the blurring of ads and content was intentional. navigation failure was not.

Yep. Pretty disappointing. The lack of an actual header is really throwing me off.

If you have to provide users with an overlay explaining how to use the new UI, something's not right.

It's also confusing that the overlay arrows are pointing to nothing (or something under the overlay).

Agree with all said bellow. It's very confusing. My eyes can't focus in something, wrong type. Make everything bolder isn't helping.

I don't get the type choices. Why use both Brandon Grotesque and Apres when they are rather similar? Also, the wall of headlines set in Titling Gothic on the homepage suffocates it a great deal.

Why would the images be blurry on purpose? No really, I'm asking.

Content still remains to take a backseat to advertising which is sad. Too many cooks in the kitchen with projects like this.

I make a living designing and understanding interfaces and I can't for the live of me make heads or tails of what's going on here.

Even the "helpful" overlay looks like it was thrown together in a flash, as it repeats vertically down the page... what?

I agree with Karl and Matt.

Apart from the poor hierarchy there's some alignment issues.

    The menu is ugly.

Why is there padding with drop shadow at the top?

Why is there no clear consistent colour scheme?
