It seems like Mozilla has decided on which of the logos to take as their new brand identity. Honestly I prefered this one from the others in the contest.
I really do like the logo, nice wee touch of "nudge nudge wink wink" which makes me smile. However... I can't stop seeing an unsure face.
Has that classic internet feel.
It's so cyber. Feels nostalgic of it's beginnings.
The slab serif isn't to my personal taste and seems a little at odds with the visuals in that video, but the concept is sound.
Does this mean we have to type moz://a from now on? :)
Agree. Love the concept as well, but the whole video is a bit weird, with the art direction all over the place.
Can either of you elaborate on how you feel that the slab serif is at odds with the visuals in that video? Because it didn't 'feel' wrong to me, and I'd like to know what it is that I am missing.
I'm really not a huge fan of this. just feels too hectic
I was thinking the same.
Logo is OK at best, but the visuals are hard to digest. It's just not consistent enough to comprehend as a brand.
I'm not sure about it ://
Subtle. Nice touch :)
Makes me want to start using Firefox. Love it.
Love every bit of it. Well done to them.
Problem is you're unsure whether it's a logo or something you're expected to type now
moz:llawhich I wrote originally by mistake).
I do not despise it however I don't feel as if it was good or great.
Nice, but... the squared logo is strikingly similar to Old Medium... I mean it's the old medium so it's alright but, Medium updated their logo not that long ago, so it confused me a little when I saw the new Mozilla logo... And also, M&M's
I thought the same when I first saw the small squared logo and wondered if others thought the same. I suppose Medium doesn't have full ownership over a slab-serif M but yeah.
considering the slating this entire project got, the end result is on point.
The '://' has no real unity with the rest of the type. Whilst the colon could be left as is (though could be improved) the angle of the forward slash really gets me. They would really benefit from being at the same angle as the beak of the 'z'.
Doesn't feel refined to me and to be really harsh a font was picked, then 'moz://a' was typed.
Obviously thought went into the concept (and I like it) but it's implementation could have been so much better.
Right, off the arm chair, my lift's arrived and I've got some advice to give from the back seat.
+1 for just seeing the :/ face..... :/
Well... I'm glad they chose that one at least. Some of the other options were just turrible. Oof.
did they update https://www.mozilla.org/ at all? looks like they just slapped the new logo on there and called it a day.
What are Mozilla's brand assets?
