Legit epilepsy warning needed.
I don't know what's worse, the strobes or Arial.
Seriously, OP or staff: can you add a warning to the title? This can actually cause seizures.
What is going on here?
Designers are coding.
It kinda feels like an ironic inside joke that no one that looks at this website gets
you got it!
I loled at the button hover state.
...and at certain screen sizes the button breaks causing columns to move about and flash.
This is not trying to be a pleasant design, so it's kind of pointless to judge it on that criteria in my opinion. Personally I really appreciate all the interesting design experimentation that went into this.

is this brutalism ?
No, this is brutalism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brutalist_architecture
This website is just some bullshit — maybe we could come up with a fun name to call it, like "metamodern min/maximalism"
haha oooh worddd
Art vs Design.
The instagram redesign has changed design forvever? That is a bold statement.
It sort of did, they deployed wireframes and said they were done ..
What is this obnoxious nonsense?
That intro pissed me off
I immediately regret clicking that.
FWIW, I laughed a few times.
I actually just got angrier the more I used it. Wow.
What is it about design writing that makes designers go so unnecessarily over the top? This, the AIGA survey website...
I'm glad the consensus is the same on this one, I was really going to question my career path if you guys loved this site.
is this brutalist kinda website?
is brutalism all about bad type tracking and uncomfortable line-heights?
Don't bother viewing on mobile if you value your fingers
You have got to be kidding me.
The items on this list have absolutely nothing to do with design. They are just big ticket events that "happened" in 2016. There have been real trends with concrete sources of influence that made a significant impact on visual design this year... I can't tell what's more of a joke: the linked list, or this community for failing to even notice that it has nothing to do with design
Ya, but box office flop Ghostbusters changed patriarchy. /s
The question is what is the bold design?
meh... could be worse. Could for sure be better.
After 2015's thrilling "Should Designers code?" saga. 2016 has its answer.
Brutalism isn't not an excuse for poor practice.
That was horrible
I feel seriously sick now. Everyone please write to them to take this abomination down.
