I've got an Aeron. Love this chair.

I love fit balls / yoga balls! They’re the best.

Sent from my yoga ball desk.

We're buying more and more Herman Miller Sail chairs, the team think they're comfortable and good for the back. And, if you have wooden floors you can zoom around the room on them very quickly :)

My office rented these for a few months until permanent chairs arrived. Loved 'em. Comfortable and flexible (for active sitters who like turning in their chair to face those behind them for a brief conversation, sit sideways for a moment, slouch to the point of laying occasionally, etc.)

I really, really like the Herman Miller Sail chairs we have at the office. At home, I use a Steelcase Leap which is also worth looking into.

An old beater from Costco circa 2007. It's pretty bad, but it lets me lean back.

Finding office chairs that don't look like they belong in a spaceship is hard. I wound up buyinug the LÅNGFJÄLL from IKEA...

+1 - they are not cheap but last forever and if you spend a lot of time sitting it's worth it

This is hands down the best chair I have ever had! Very ergonomic. The unusual design allows you to adjust/vary your sitting position during the day which is very important for your health. It's the only office chair I can use without getting a sore neck and shoulders.

It looks weird, but it is by far the best chair I've ever sat in. It's especially great if you have a standing desk as it can be raised to bar stool height.

I've had a Herman Miller Embody for 6 years and still like it as much as the day I got it. One of the best purchases I've made.

I use kneeling chair by TAG. It cured my lower back pain.

Big fan of my Herman Miller Embody! Have had it for probably 5-6 years at this point: https://paulstamatiou.com/stuff-i-use/ The only advice I have is don't get a bright color.. my jeans have started to turn this seat bluish. There's a company that can pick it up and give it a thorough shampooing/cleaning but around $400.

      Stammy!

I was this close to getting an Embody at first, but the Aeron won me over.

BTW, is that an Eames Lounge peeking out on the left side of that photo?

    Herman Miller Caper Studio Chair

The best ergonomics/$ I’ve found yet is the "Multipurpose" version of HM’s Caper chair. I find the hard plastic back quite comfortable for extended sitting. It’s airy and never gets hot (like some chairs with thickly padded fabric do). It’s got the standard ergonomic features. Gets all the basics right.

Though it isn’t in the league of Aeron or Sayl (the stacking version of this chair is the more popular one), to me it feels better than many fancier no-brand chairs I’ve sat in over the years.

I've tried a lot of them. This has been my favorite (no back aches at the end of the day!) by far, and quite surprisingly, the cheapest one I've had in years.

    I use the Core Chair

It's a bit pricey but the difference it makes has been more than work every dollar.

Pretty sure my office chair at work is a Steelcase Think (We have a lot of their products in our office). I also have a standing desk, I go back and forth between sitting/standing all day. At home, I forget what kind of office chair I have. I got it from overstock for like $60.

At the office I have a Knoll ReGeneration. It's not as pretty or interesting looking as many of the other chairs out there but I love it. Also a little cheaper than the Aeron.

At home I've got an Ikea Markus. There isn't that much you can adjust, but it works plenty well. At $199 and a 10-year warranty, it's a deal.

I got a discounted Vitra ID Mesh, really nice quality and design, but for that budget I'd recommend getting the Aeron (though I've never tried one myself yet).

I have a Girsberger Yanos. Bought it second-hand for £60, but it was in pretty good shape. It's a nice chair.

A lot of you are saying "worth the money". Do many of you buy your own office chairs?

I bought mine. Went down to a Design Within Reach store and sat down in pretty much every chair they had. (It's not a bad way to spend an idle afternoon either.)

    Steelcase Leap

After doing a good bit of research, I bought a Steelcase Leap. I've had it over a year and love it.

Really depends on your budget, though. You can get some decent chairs in the sub-$200 range (I've read good things about the IKEA Markus), but you'll need to spend $500+ if you want to expand your options.

If that's more than you want to spend, Autonomous will be releasing a $199 office chair soon. While I haven't tried it, I have an adjustable desk from the same company that's surprisingly well-made for the price.

Saddle-type chair, if you care about ergonomics and have a height-adjustable table. Essence — no imposed 90 degree angle. Takes couple of weeks to get used to it. I use Multiadjuster from Salli, have used Twin model before.

    Salli Multiadjuster

They also have Swing series for more dynamic/active sitting, but from the short trying in the store I have found them too unstable — even more swingy than yoga ball.

And you can design your own coloring, if you wish.

I have been using a sedus open mind for over 15 years. I can highly recommend them, the durability and comfort are great.
