Thoughts on Credit Karma Redesign?

almost 5 years ago from , Beach Bum

Looks like Credit Karma just launched a rebrand with a new logo, font, brighter colors, and more "cartoon" like icons. Curious if anyone had any thoughts on their new direction?

I feel like their new look is cleaner but logo feels too plain and doesn't stand out as much.

It looks very harsh and amateur with typography so out of scale, it's like (visually) listening to a 5 year old bash on piano keys for their piano lessons.

In high school, I remember they would bring in motivational speakers who really "got" us kids. The speakers would "speak in our language" - and tell us not to do drugs and not to have sex.

This design feels like an old person trying to "speak to millennials".

    Whitespace. It needs it.

    It lacks vertical padding.

On the surface, it feels very amateurish and lacking polish. Overall, I feel like it's a downgrade from the previous design.
