What Podcast apps are you using and why?

3 years ago from , Designer

I'm curious to hear what podcast apps you are using — and why you are using that specific one.

Personally, I'm going with Acast for premium content and Pocket Casts for their very nice experience and web player sync.

Let me hear it!

I love Overcast. I think it's fantastic. Smart Speed is so helpful and the app overall is really well made.

Any of these have good web apps? tried Pocket Casts, looks beautiful but there's no episode descriptions and search isn't great. Tried stitcher's web app but it sucks.

Stitcher. I've been using it for 5 years and it says I've logged 3,628 hours. That doesn't include the podcasts I listen to on Apple's Podcast app.

I like it for the listen later queue and the offline listening.

Gonna throw podcast addict in here. Free, no ads, I love how easy it is to set up a playlist, keep your casts up to date. It lets you stream or download, depending on how you want to play it.

Google Play Music, surprisingly. I was a PocketCasts user, but found that most of my shows were also on Google Play Music (which is my primary streaming service). Also, I can connect Google Play Music to Sonos and have podcasts playing while I work at home. It's great.

PocketCasts. I tried OverCast and it was also nice, but the dealbreaker for me was PCs up next functionality. I love being able to queue up several podcasts easily.

I keep switching every couple months but I've been using Pocket Casts for a little while now. I like the interface and their web player is really useful.
