No idea on how well it works, but I know there's a whole lot of dev postings on here: https://ooomf.com/

I am/was working on designpairs. Super simple concept: designers can meet fellow designers or developers near them or around the world. My backend dev bailed. So it sits in limbo.

Ooomf.com is a great service for finding developers

I should note that this is more for paid work and not necessarily teaming up to build things. I have freelance clients that hire me for website design, but will still need development. I'm only capable of front-end, so I would need to personally hire out a backend developer for my own client work.

I had the same problem. Had a lot of concepts and ideas but no one to help build them out. I've been learning RoR to build a simple site for devs and designers to find projects that they could help out with or collaborate on.

Then I found collabfinder.com which is somewhat what I was looking for but is too feature heavy. I just wanted a craiglist kinda listings that you filter out with the type of help you were looking for. I don't know if I still want to follow up on that concept.

Let me know if you guys want something like this. Maybe I'll continue on it, otherwise I'll try to find some other project for my first RoR app.
