Maybe they should focus on getting those wireless headphones shipped and then move on to the incredibly complex problem of creating a car. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Struggling to think of a product I'd least like Apple to work on than a car.

Services, AI, Mapping and Sustainability are not Apple strongpoints.

Yeah my thinking exactly... a $100,000 car that can't get you anywhere because of inferior mapping, etc. Siri and fingerprint sensors still completely don't work sometimes, the new MacBook pro's are buggy, a car is the last thing they should make.

and this is coming from an apple fan boy

I bet this just started as "let's get rid of the steering wheel"

I think this post was retitled (original was "Apple confirms they are working on some autonomous driving something") but my intention was to keep the news vague. I'm not 100% convinced that they are working on a car per se, but it could be an accompanying technology or even a secret partnership that we don't know about yet.

In either case, I'm glad to see they are going to be doing their part in this exciting new industry.

While this is wishful speaking, Tesla just announced Today they opened up shop in Spain. Yes! :P

Indeed once Apple enters this space, with their huge capital, their awesome distribution, their tech and experience, it will be hard even for Elon to compete. But still, we have to be grateful to Musk for making the entire industry, and the ones outside of it, really consider electric car with all the benefits they bring - clean energy & self driving, being just two of them.

The idea of a self-driving car doesn't excite me particularly, but I do wonder if Apple are building electric or at least hybrid vehicles.
