I'm looking for a modern full screen responsive overlay menu solution, any suggestions / demos / opinions on these? Many thanks!
I really hate these full screen menus.
I agree. I mean, everything has it's place, but these are too common.
I mean really, every time I think it's a lazy copy&paste snippet crap.
I like to reference http://navnav.co when I'm looking for a particular style of navigation.
Nice link, thanks. Bookmarked.
Doesn't work when the list is longer than the screen.
.edit: at least, not on desktop?
So many of these menus don't consider this. Drives me crazy.
Thank all. Are there general thoughts that these are not good for UX?
Anyone know how to recreate this priority nav without Angular? Just pure CSS/JS?
first one that comes to mind: http://www.bloomberg.com/
personally, I love full screen nav (or the idea of it), but I haven't see research on how well it serves other people.
Trying to actually use any of the code from those examples is awful. I would personally recommend using that site purely as inspiration.
Codyhouse has some great full screen menu solutions:

Something that really bugs me about the overlay menus in general is that you go from having your mouse right on top of the interactive element to having to reposition. And in cases like this where it's paired with other menu items, there's no way to know that one of them gives you a secondary overlay menu and others have different behaviour.
I use something similar on my website: www.lucian.es Is this it?
Reminds me a lot of http://teehanlax.com
Love the site, and the preloader - mind sharing what you used for that?
