Do you get design work through Instagram?

almost 7 years ago from , Product Designer @webflow

Curious, do any of you post design work to Instagram? Has that lead to any project work for you?

I suspect it might work for illustrators and photographers but hardly for web designers/UX/UI designers; and that it's very correlated with posting actual work. I just post random photos so of course I don't get design work through IG.

I personally never got any, but I a lot of people does.

I've recently listened to one episode of Being Freelance podcast which was an interview with Emma Block and she said that a lot of her clients finds her in Instagram.

You just need to post the best of your work, and keep engaging with the comments and people in Instagram.

    Best of luck Kyle!

I think it depends on what kind of design you do and who are your followers. I agree with Johan that illustrators and photographers can get (and I know those who do) clients through Instagram, but for others it might be a little bit harder. Anyway it doesn't take that much time, why not to try for several months and see how it goes.

I don't use instagram, but i can say i got couple of clients from Pinterest, if you can believe that :). They searched me from the images other people posted with my work.

Highly recommend Instagram. I don't have many followers and usually post random shots of the stuff I currently work on. From beginning of October until now, two organizations contacted me to work on their projects.
