Not true, what if you design walls?

Sure it means nothing if you are a white male designer like most of us, but I worry for my friends who aren't and about fighting climate change.

Agreed. The post is more poking fun at medium articles. But when I say "nothing" I just mean his presidency won't change how we design. It will affect others on a more personal level however, you are correct.

Perfect. That's what I was thinking before I read the full post.

It doesn't mean anything for anyone? Huh?

It doesn't mean any more for designers than it does for anyone else. The "nothing" just means for designers nothing will change on work-wise. Individuals who may also be designers will be affected in different ways.

But this is just a post making fun of medium posts ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So making fun of people who are genuinely worried how a Trump presidency might actually affect their lives? What exactly is the purpose of that?

I think it's being taken out of context. Every time anything happens in the world, someone writes a medium post about how it affects designers... even though it generally doesn't (affect their work... it may or may not affect them on a personal level).

I'm poking fun at those articles, NOT people who are being affected by the election (which is pretty much everyone. Some to a much greater degree).

While you can be a designer AND be affected by this election, it doesn't impede your ability to design. And that's what the article is poking fun at.

Dunno if its just me but it seems in bad taste to trivialize something as horrible as the election result for the purpose of vaguely poking fun at clickbait Medium posts.

Oh cool, white guy telling us to calm down about Trump.

I do not support trump. I do not support his policies. I am poking fun at medium articles that always show up talking about how ____ world event affects us, as designers.

There is plenty to worry about regarding Trump. But he cannot take our ability to create.

Don't calm down about trump, but also don't stop creating.

It doesn't means shit. Sketch is done by europeans and we're not influenced by Trump around here.

What's sad is that the US just went from a president that we looked up for, to a president everyone will make fun of. Sad and unfortunate!
