Hey everyone any color predictions for the next year?
- #B5FFF2 is ready to make a comeback for next season.
- #0047fA so hot right now.
- #080808 is the new #000000
redare really hot too.
RGB is the new CMYK.
That's so Milan!
I don't think this is a post deserving of the sneering.
Pantone's colour of the year this year was a combination, for the first time - next year I think we'll see something similar, not so much from Pantone but perhaps much bolder/statement like.
If you look at Tobias van Schneider's recent post on colour, look at the later numbers, 93, 94, 97 and 100 - all very bold, toying a bit with vibration.
This has been an ongoing trend this year (Spotify rebrand namely) but likely to continue into next year.
I agree, the post isn't deserving of the sneering. It's probably coming from designers more on the product design side than graphic design.
I love vibrating colours, loved shaking magazines as a kid and watching the text wobble.
Nothing in this world is beyond ridicule, it's just some people making light-hearted/good-natured jokes about something they don't see the use for (yet)
(Colour) trend predictions are very relevant if you build websites for people that will be (consciously or sub-consciously) affected by what's in fashion
First and foremost the colour palette you choose should speak to your target audience and the message you're trying to convey (relates to the previous point)
So in short: I recommend people pay attention to the informed answers you'll see in this thread, but also not use these trends as a be-all-end-all answer to "what colour will my next website be?"
Mainstream: I think gradients in modern 80s style will be huge, just have a look on the new stripe.com website and we will see more and more, until death, gradient maps on images.
Trend: Another thing may color blocking style with huge letters. Strong saturated colors. I think we will leave low saturated colors. Could also be 80s style everywhere, neon colors, with lighting effects. Backgrounds dark or harmonic even monochromic.
I have been thinking this as well. Bright colors are coming back. pastels have been huge for the last 2-3 years but the transition to bright colors is already happening in fashion. it will come.
https://asana.com/ they follow a similar approach as well
Yes I believe color is scheduled to return next year
I assume it'll be mostly white people again.
Just random colors. Had to work with them on a current project.
I heard some scientists discovered a new color. But some people say this new color is in area51. I don't know whats going on.
I have heard about that. Trump told me and the color is huge.
Yeah! It's going to be soooo good that everyone will use it, you know it, I know it everyone knows it! Past colors were a disaster and completely broke down our design
And what when nobody likes the color? We don't will accept that!
We're going to build a wall around green, it's going to a huge. Grab it buy the p_ssy.
I reckon primary colours now that everyone is catching up with and genericising brutalism.
Pastel Gradients. They're being done to death now, so expect to see Behance full of them next year.
this is peak designer news, right here.
I was thinking about trying to stay away from color.
I heard red was going to be used.
#000000...actually 'darken( #000000, 100% )' or Jet Black as Apple calls it.lol
Is this serious?
Why not check for yourself? ;-)
Yeah, no need for sneering I think. It's a fun mental exercise I usually do around this time of year when a colour keeps popping into my head. This year the colour that keeps sticking with me that I can see about to be all over everything is forest green. Especially in fashion.
Can we stop using white everywhere for once?
450 trillion websites, how is this possible to see some relevance :D
