I'm not sure these fancy responsive menu's are a great addition. It feels likes it more about the fanciness than the usability. These experiments are good though, that how we discover what is beneficial or not.
My "awesome" was for the design aspect. Not for usability. I am also in conflict, if should think this is nice or not. But I like the design aspect.
The design style of the sidebar nav looks really similar to Rdio's iOS design http://goo.gl/R0Sbdn
Somehow, but I think the author of this page wanted to keep focus on the unzoom of the main app.
Lovely concept but it dies somewhat on Mobile Safari due to using 'position:fixed'. Shame.
The transition feels a little slow. If I'm aiming for Help or Logout, and I know to expect it at the bottom of the list, there's an incongruity as I wait for it to appear.

See how the website keeps responding to media queries while the menu is open !
