What's your ringtone?

3 years ago from , Co-founder of PlateCulture

There are too much confusion with default ringtones and default notification sounds being used. Just curious, what ringtone do you have on your phone? Do you know any designers who have created ringtones as a side project? Example: http://unton.es

No idea, my phone is on silent 100% of the time.

Those are awesome. This is not my actual ringtone, but I've always wanted it: 99%ringtone

I'm always on vibration only mode and to be honest I kind of dislike ringtones in general. It just makes the world noisier.

Mine's the intro of this song Bring Me The Horizon - Throne. I'm kind of a music person so I like to use my favourite music as a ringtone. Well it rarely rings though…

I just launched ProTones, a 20 pack of unique alerts and tones for iPhone. It's a side project I've been working on as a way to get back in to audio equipment and recording.

Even though there's clearly tape hiss, I have a real soft spot for Torgo's Theme from "Manos: The Hands of Fate".

I'm on the 100% silent trip these days too, but as a backup I used to slice my own ringtones out of songs I liked. It was always tricky to get something that sounded appealing and not too strident, an instrumental segment of the song that wouldn't make me start to dislike hearing that song as much as I dislike receiving a phone call. My favorite ones were usually from songs by Metric or OMD, although I used the intro to Discovery's "Osaka Loop Line" for a pretty long time.

At the moment, I'm using a ringtone from Cleartones Pure. Prior to that, I've always gone with either the default or whichever built-in option sounds the most like an actual phone ringing, except for a brief period in Uni where my ringtone was a recording of a friend shouting "RING RING!" over and over.

I have Frank Underwood's ringtone from House of Cards. It's fitting for the city I live in.

Yep! I use Dan Eden's Kindlich from Untones. Although my phone is on silent (plus the blinking light) most of the time.

James Ferraro has a bunch of nice and weird ringtones, I switch between them, but my fav is probably Botox. They can be downloaded for free here.

I can't say I remember the last time I heard my phone ring. I'm so used to the buzzing in my pocket or on my desk (loud enough).

It would be great if apps like Figure allowed me to export a track and make it a ringtone on my iPhone. I'd probably use it for a little while.

One thing that does screw with my brain is when I hear a default Apple ringtone that someone has set to their ringtone that I use for an alarm.

Mine is the default one and it strikes fear into my soul every time it rings. Although it's only ever my mum or a ppi scam.

My phone is always on silent/vibrate whether I'm out to dinner, hanging out with friends, at work...whatever. I just don't like ringtones – they're all pretty annoying.

The only time I have the volume up is when I am expecting an important call from someone.
