Wallpaper resolution for iOS 7 (parallax): 744x1392px

10 years ago from , UI Designer (Freelancer)

The new wallpapers that Apple includs with iOS 7 GM have a resolution of 744x1392px (as you can see here: http://d.pr/i/pcPQ). This is of course the resolution for the 4" screen of the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S. If you create wallpapers with a resolution of 744x1392px and use them unter iOS 7 while the parallax effect is activated, they shouldn't be upscaled :)

Still hoping to see guides for the dynamic wallpapers, would love to play around with those..

That works, but they’re using sub-pixel positioning for the parallax, so be aware that your wallpaper may still look less than pixel perfect as you rotate/tilt your iOS device around. Still, this is great news!

Edit: Tested on both lock and home screen. Same result. Also, remember that you can turn parallax off, if you’d prefer things were pixel perfect.

Thanks! Any idea what the resolution for a parallax iPad wallpaper on iOS 7 would be?

And if you choose to disable the parallax effect, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion: On

Thanks for posting. So if I want to design some parallax wallpaper all I have to do is design to this size?
