Just saw this on Dribbble. Are they A/B testing?
I like the layout. But I find that the skills are kind of useless. Clicking on a skill gives you the top designers for that tag. Which is kind of lame. Imagine if clicking a skill filtered through the shots on that particular profile. Yay or nay?
if they were using another algorithm, that might be more interesting. Instead of promoting the most popular player they could show newbies that got more hype in last week. And also have most popular sorting as an option.
You can do that through More > Tags - but I agree, showing tags you've applied to your shots would be better than the skills section.
I like it, but I can't help but feeling like the vertical profile section is kind of a waste of a column as you get down into the shots—where there is now just empty space that was once populated by thumbnails. It is nice that the user info remains persistent though as your scroll.
Some might argue, when you have too many columns, it can be information overload.
Saw that change this morning, i think that the old one was better for a profile page, now it's look lika a behance when you open a project.
Hmm, was more a fan of the old one.
I wish they would sticky the header, or ala headroom/google, already. Scroll to top is still super annoying to me.
It's also responsive, the first breakpoint has the header and 4 columns.
That's a lot of whitespace ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/35m83reuw600a8a/Screen%20Shot%202016-09-27%20at%2008.54.39.png?dl=0
Awesome, I dont realize about it!
They showed they would be updating it with a dribbble post recently. Looks like it went into place today. I honestly preferred the old version and thought it looked much cleaner. You could focus on just the shots without the profile information being in the way. The way it is now it competes withe the shot content.
I understand all of the criticism of the change but I, personally, like that they've created a dedicated space for the profile details. Seems like it was being jammed up in the header and getting crowded before. This is assuming the skills section is at all useful, which is pretty much isn't as far as I can tell. :)
I like it. It feels more like a user profile now.
I was a fan of the old layout. On my 13-inch laptop I've got the new sidebar and a two columns of shots.
This seems like the exact sort of situation where a sidebar profile wouldn't make sense. Maybe that's just me though.
I like that there is a bit more emphasis on the player's information and projects, but I still am so tied to the old layout.
Strange! but I like it do. Its weird what they do with the "PRO". They put it on the left side all alone.
Dribbble is going downhill with all the recent layout updates.
love it !
