Boy they really are shameless.
Would any designers who are involved with this (and/or Instagram Stories) be willing to share a bit about the process that leads to this? I just can't imagine the actual conversation happening that must have obviously happened wherein one person says to another, "hey we should just totally rip features from Snapchat."
I'm legitimately curious, it just seems a bit wacky.
It's easy to hate on Facebook, but this is business.
I think this is a smart decision from Facebook. The company views Snapchat-esque filters as a way to increase users, usage or revenue.
Snapchat will now have more pressure to improve its product—just like Facebook had pressure to improve theirs. In the long-run, I think it is better for consumers.
Another case of Facebook trying to be relevant...
