Pinterest testing new design on desktop

It seems like Pinterest is rolling out their current mobile app design to desktop browsers. Must be in an A/B test phase right now cause my colleague sees it and I don't.

I've stopped using Pinterest on my desktop because of this layout. The text floating in the background under the cards really screws up the scan-ability of the page.

True. It's quite confusing to look at.

I wish there was a way to just completely hide all the info below a pin. At first sight I'm only interested in seeing the image. If I want to see the title, pinner, source, or whatever other info I will hover or click.

That's the first thing I thought when I saw this. I'm not sure what the logic of removing the card layout is.

Agreed, because of the background-less cards I find myself having to think about which images the text is attached to.

I like the cleanliness and space it brings, though the no-container approach need some times to get used to for sure. :/

I mean, people who use Pinterest are scanning for IMAGES first anyway, then text comes second after you found that image you like and want to read the description, but I could be wrong of course...
