Not withstanding the horrific nature of what's being reported in these big events most of the time, the design system and thought that goes into making something so versatile it can evolve with a story is a design lesson for everyone.

Same obviously happens on most news organisations websites these days but it's really interesting to see it in a clip like that.

This is a great visualization, I wish the time was more prominently displayed to appreciate the rapid evolution, but that's a small complaint by far.
