Anyone else not want to talk to their computer?

Anyone else feel like Siri should be incorporated into spotlight search instead of a standalone feature?

Seriously. It looks like a bad mockup template you'd see in a student portfolio.

Does anyone know why they would use something dumb like that? Can Apple not take a real photo of someone closing a laptop?

Do keep in mind that the developer betas are for developers and public betas for all. In general, it should be good to try it on a spare or older mac but I wouldn't recommend it on a work machine :) Tried it thrice before—

Once by installing developer beta on my primary machine (would never do that again)

The next time I waited until comments on developer forums/reddit started showing enough stability and then made a switch 2-3 weeks before the final release and that was a pretty OK experience. There were bugs but nothing major.

Public betas are safest. Only some fairly stable features run on these so you could try it on your work machine. Do take a full backup before that and prepare for a restore if things break.

Also, don't expect developers to support apps through this phase. It rarely makes sense for them to push out regular updates for betas as things are constantly changing. So, if you use PS everyday then it is a real bad idea to expect any support whatsoever from Adobe before the final launch happens in September.

Each time I see the name Sierra, I think of this:

Anyone joined the Apple Beta Software Program previously? Thoughts on it?

Even for OSes with only minor changes there are still a lot of bugs that make it difficult for you to go about your business.

Also, not everything works on day 1 of the beta, so it's a pretty bad deal.

You can still install it if you have a mac you don't mind wiping or can create a separate partition, but otherwise I'd wait until Fall.

One guy at work did it for some past version. Lots of bugs and performance issues. Didn't get into too many details with him, but I remember he wasn't really that happy about it.

I use the iOS betas on my iPad and I've never had issues. I'm too nervous to run a beta OS on my laptop, though.

While the new version of OS X (I won't change my ways) seems underwhelming, I quite like the website design.

The first Siri section, especially the screenshots, look quite lazy.
