There's been a number of discussions on the optical adjustments lately (1, 2, 3). So I decided to wrap up some of my in-house tools into this little plugin.

There's a small price tag attached. But I'm giving out 10 copies with 50% off with dn promocode.

If you have any question, I will be here to answer.

      So far, interesting!

With quick testing I did, the best experience was to actually use Sketch's alignment tools, and then tidy them up using Optically.

As with anything, it does not do magic, but it really helps skip a few annoying resizing/realigning steps you'd need to do. My current project has a vast library of icons, and it really helps to nominally resize them to fit the same visual space.

Thanks for the plugin, well worth the money!

Cheers! Happy to see it's helping.

You've made a good point. It's not a magic bullet. It definitely needs some guidance. In particular, when dealing with negative spaces. They tend to distort the total perceptual weight. Luckily, most of the time these shapes are present in the design and can be temporarily switched off when aligning. That will remove some stress from you and provide mathematical grounds.

Here I've taken some iOS 9 icons from the iOS 9 GUI (iPhone) for demonstration.
