I've seen some landing page designs in the past while that show their app animated...showing difference screens, etc...was wondering if most folks do this with an animated gif? Or is there some other way of doing that? I've created a few animated gifs as a test, and they look ok, but not great...was wondering if others are doing something different?
Hey Tyson, have you ever heard of Inspired Mobile? We have a straightforward interface for building sites across mobile/tablet/desktop which would allow you to easily add animations! Our sister company built this site, http://www.imagine-mobile.com/, across all 3 screens on our platform which is spot on with an animated iPad landing page.
I encourage you to check us out at, http://selfservice.marketing/
Actually if you're interested in trying it out, you could use the code i50 for 50% off your first month. Cheers!
There are also quite a few other ways to do this other than what's already mentioned.
If it is a complicated UI, you can add the prototyping screens to Adobe XD, link them, then run and record a user journey. This is saved as a .mov by default but you can convert to a better extension for web usage if you want. This is similar to Marvel app although it is anutomated.
If it is a simpler animation, you can animate a .svg easily using CSS. There are many online resources for this. This is a cool option because you can also animate per realtime feedback, and use vectors which scale nicely on web.
Maybe post some examples of what you're after.
You can record the iPad screen plugging it on USB and recording the interactions using Quicktime. I did this recently: http://neurob.it/blobpong
You could have a live prototype with something like https://marvelapp.com/explore/657602/story-play/ there are definitely other solutions.
just saw that now....thanks a ton for the link :) much appreciated :)
great suggestions!! thanks!
