Ask DN: Dropbox vs. Google Drive

What are people experiences with Google Drive? Having been a Dropbox guy for years but looking to cut costs - I'm a bit anxious to make the switch. Is it worth it?

Yeah dropbox is pretty pricey, but I have had little to no issues with uploading my files and knowing that they will be there when I go looking for them again. I have both dropbox and google drive and have noticed that google drive sometimes doesn't sync the files for unknown reasons as well as having quite a bit of files becoming corrupted, specifically large video project files (also not sure why). Right now google drive is a nice option, but feels like it isint as stable in comparison to dropbox.

Switched to Google Drive a year ago to cut costs and I have lost some files - only noticed it some time later. For some reason, it fails syncing some kind of files and it didn't warn nor help me to solve the problem (in case I noticed at the time). So if you want to be 100% worry-free, stay with Dropbox. But if you are willing to stay on top of Google Drive activities, go ahead - IMO its worth it because of the prices.

Also, the sharing in Google Drive sucks.

I've used both, what are you looking to use it for? general file sync? I currently subscribe to a google drive plan for 100GB and my dropbox is standard account with upgraded storage from invites.
