Nice work Cole! If you'd like to do something together with Unsplash, let me know! I'm sure we could do something pretty cool!
Want me to shoot you an email? I'd love to do something with Unsplash. That would be rad.
Most of these photos have Attribution licenses so I don't know if they're really meant to be used as stock photos. Some of these don't have any information so it's hard to know if they're actually available to use or in what way.
I didn't see anything about attribution licenses, although some of the institutions politely ask you mention them.
These photos are part of The Commons project on Flickr. In the rights statement, it says there are no known licenses.
"The copyright is in the public domain because it has expired; The copyright was injected into the public domain for other reasons, such as failure to adhere to required formalities or conditions; The institution owns the copyright but is not interested in exercising control; or The institution has legal rights sufficient to authorize others to use the work without restrictions."
I've checked the rights statements of the various institutions and in general they state the above.
great resource, thanks.
This is nice, but trying to understand what "vintage" means. That Brooklyn Bridge photo is from 2011 or so (feat. recently completed Frank Gehry tower)
*Most of them are vintage :P
