Anyone have any non-adobe suggestions for creating animated gifs on osX? I'm looking to do very simple frame by frame animated elements., which I used to do in Fireworks, but wonder if there's something newer and better that can just take a sequence of images and output a gif? Not interested in renting and learning AfterEffects for something like this.
+1 for Licecap
+1 for Licecap.
Am I missing something, or do these not create gifs from a sequence of images?
Oh no, it can capture an area of your desktop.
If you are just want to combine frames into a gif then I cannot recommend Imagemagick enough (its available on macports and homebrew)
convert -delay 4 -loop 0 *.png output.gif
Converts all the pngs in a folder into a gif.
I highly recommend Gif Brew: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/app/gif-brewery-3-video-to-gif/id1081413713?at=11lMug&ct=jns-linkshare&ls=1&mt=12
But this just converts from video, right? Can't generate from my own images?
And for anyone looking like me, today I found another great plugin for sketch: AnimateMate
