Is it just me or does anyone else feel like there have been lots of duplicate posts lately? As of right now I count at least 4 posts to Geoff Teehan's Medium article on Facebook Reactions in the /new feed.
Is there a way to not allow the same link to be posted multiple times? Would love to hear others' thoughts and/or suggestions.
There used to be a simple url checker when posting back in the day, but like all things, it was super easy to defeat... a slightly different URL, etc could fool it.
I think a lot of it comes down to US... the users of this bawse place. All it takes is 1-2 minutes of looking at the first 2-3 pages of recent posts to see if someone already posted the link. It doesn't take much effort.
Even with mods and a dedicated kick-ass staff... this place will only be as good as the people participating. That starts with due-diligence in regards to posting if you ask me.
Perhaps some better user moderation tools? A "mark as duplicate" to help out the mods?

DN does warn you before posting a duplicate link, although it doesn't stop you.
