New Commit icon for Sourcetree

It's a wedding ring, get it?

Thoughts? I groaned at the visual pun, but I don't hate it! I think it's more clever than the original icon, which was just basically a circle.

A wedding ring was my first idea as I saw the new icon. I generally don't really like the new style of the icons. They are clean and fresh, but way to hard to differenciate due to the lack of colors.

So to be short. I liked the old icon more.

Simplifying for the sake of simplifying. No added value.

I'm on the same boat. They lost all legibility and make me want to jump back to the command line.

Another thing — branch name colors don't match the branch graph colors. What's up with that...

Dropping separator lines in the history log is also a bit annoying for me. img

This. 4 of the new icons use thin stroke circles and rely on small extensions (arrow up, arrow down, dotted line, diamond shape) to distinguish them. The job of finding the button you were looking for is harder than it was before...

Not a fan of the new UI at all. The icons are too indistinct but worse than that they seem to have hidden away a lot more functionality behind menus etc now.

Might push me to finally learn to use Git from the command line though.

    Old one for reference:

BitBucket (also by Atlasssian) uses this for their 'Commits' section:

    BitBucket Commit Section

Which I think is clearer - it's one node in the history that makes up branch.

I kind of agree with you, but commits and add new commit (which is the case of Sourcetree) shouldn't really have the same icon.

It's clever, but I'm not sold. I wouldn't have realized that it was specifically supposed to be a wedding ring without someone telling me.

It's left me wondering what a better icon for "Commit" would be, though! I think this is silly, but memorable.

I had to revert to the older version since the latest version UI issues is so bad. Unclear icons, some features(git-flow) are hidden by default, etc. Yes, the old version looks pretty dated but at least it's usable.
