I decided to take a stab at recreating OS X with HTML/CSS/JS. I know it seems silly, but its been a very fun and explorative project to work on for me.
It's not silly, man. You do you.
It did way more than I expected. Pretty amazing depth to the project.
Thank you! its work-in-progress, so I'll probably add features as time allows.
.@CodePen is the front end designer’s “leave a penny take a penny” jar, but where folks might occasionally leave a corvette.

Inception at it's finest.
In all seriousness though, that's pretty sick despite the limited functionality.
I attended a CodePen meetup in Chicago where I did this live...everyone got a good chuckle out of it, but sadly, it only goes two levels deep.
Thanks for the kind words!
I modified Steve TS's code to do something similar on iOS. There are larger touch targets for closing windows, but it's kinda functional.
I guess I need to add the dock or some sort of dock switcher.
Very nice work! Only one thing: The pull-down / drop-down menues do not work as in OS X where the menues stay open until you click somewhere else.
This is so impressive because the workload is immense, quality of work is quite good, and everything behave so nice!
How much did it took you? Is it still WIP?
Thank you! Its definitely a work-in-progress, and probably will remain that way for a long time. Its fun to be able to just pick it up and add features to it as the time goes on.
I've invested somewhere around ~30 hours into it so far. I don't have an accurate count, though.
