They should really work on making all their products really stable before ramming it with more Features

Agreed, I really wish another company would replace video applications. Affinity seems to be fixing the photoshop/illustrator problem, But i have to keep premiere pro and after effects, there is no alternative for me. Hopefully adobe fixes their products

Update that fixes a bug -> let's slam Adobe for being shit.

For a bunch of designers there's a surprising lack of empathy here.

An update that deletes from disk based on it's position alphabetically is a pretty serious bug and deserves some reprimand in my opinion.

Not saying it's not serious. Not saying it shouldn't have been caught before being shipped. Just saying, they fixed an issue, and are now getting slammed.

        Seems unfair.

By your logic, if you help an old lady cross the road, you are allowed to kill children based on their disk position alphabetically.

Considering the cost of the software and size of the company a catastrophic bug like this (why user space software needs to be playing around in the root of the disk is anyones guess…) is entirely unacceptable.

It's absurd people are still willing to forgive such a large organisation that sells such an expensive product.

And again, the lack of empathy is stunning.

Come on, use your UX, try to think of how this might have happened. Apparently the bug only affects a small amount of specific setups. It could've easily been missed while testing, because it doesn't affect how the application runs.

All it takes is one junior dev, and the code might be reviewed by someone who missed those 2 lines of code due to any of a billion reasons here.

Sure, it's a terrible bug. But in essence it's the same as any other: a couple of lines of unfinished code.

As for the cost of the software: if it was $19/month or whatever the hell it is in MY student days, I wouldn't even have pirated it. I would've just drank a little less beer, purchased fewer miniatures or skipped on a couple of PC games. $49/month for ALL their software is ridiculously cheap imo.

And lastly: they just FIXED the bug. Were you complaining too when they introduced it, or did it not affect you at all?

Oh no the poor wittle corporation which holds every creative industry at ransom and puts in the absolute minimum of effort into every part of their business :'( my heart truly bleeds for them

Do the maths, it's actually the most expensive it has ever been. Before CC most people only used to buy every other or every other other version.

or did it not affect you at all?

Well I stopped paying for Adobe software when they moved to subscription so nah this didn't affect me but it did validate my decision to vote with my wallet.

Over the weekend, the company has also released a new version that fixes the issue.
