Collaboration sans Committee

5 years ago from , Product Designer, Galvanize

Hi DN! I’ve been pondering this question lately:

How do I involve a bunch of (smart) people in the design process and NOT end up with a shit-ton of opinions (i.e. a Committee)?

Any practical tips, methods, or tools?

    1. Create brainstorming/creative sessions to generate some of the best ideas with people you trust.
    2. Use a tool like Wake to share progress and get feedback and group reaction as you move along.
    3. Personally respond to every piece of feedback even if it is crappy advice (making people feel that their opinion is valued builds trust).
    4. Incorporate feedback and give credit where it's due when the final iteration ships.
    5. Make it fun so people want to keep participating.
    6. Repeat. ;)
