Wow, 16 product designers? I know enterprise app teams with smaller product design teams. I wonder what they day to day is for them...

We do photo shoots like this every day, honestly. :) Not much to do at our globally-distributed media conglomerate.

      ;)

I'm never really sure what Buzzfeed actually is but I know it's been polluting my social medias more and more each year for some time now. Recently it completely overtook my beautiful Pinterest feed with stupid ikea hacks. I hate it so much...

There's a lot of clickbait and listicles and whatnot, but there are also some really incredible journalists (and designers/engineers/etc) doing top-tier work there. Part of the increased importance of social media to news orgs means that the former funds the latter.

People love to shit on Buzzfeed for their listicles and click bait. But that's how you make money on the web these days. And that money then gets filtered into some really great investigative journalism and some amazing podcasts.

You can't simultaneously complain about banner ads, then shit on Buzzfeed for finding a different revenue solution.

I'm sure McDonalds does a heck of a lot of charity work too, the ends don't justify the means if all you're looking at is $$$$$$$$

You'd probably have half a point, if their site wasn't filled with banner ads.

I like this fella. I really like the sound of his approach to management. There's nothing worse than feeling your manager is too busy or unapproachable.

I've been glued to Cap's blog recently. He's the only person i've found that talks my language about design leadership. Invaluable. Thanks Cap!

As someone in a similar role but on a much smaller scale, this is interesting.

Cap spoke at Web Directions in Sydney in October, and it was a great talk. He's worked with some pretty awesome teams and you can tell he loves his craft.
