Here's hoping for more libraries like this... sketch.rb ... skala.rb .....
I would love to give Sketch the same treatment. Unless I can get my hands on a decent file spec though, it's going to take some time :)
It was more a request from the app creators :P
Shout out to Bjango and Bohemian Coding!
Any possible legal ramifications from Adobe on this?
If they get a C&D they have been successful
Adobe publish the spec (yeah, I realise that's very different to a working library!).

Others have written libraries before and I don’t think Adobe has taken action. So, I think LayerVault should be ok with this.
Thanks, LayerVault team!
This is very cool. There is also a lively discussion on Hacker News going on regarding Psd.rb: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6129237
This sounds awesome, how long does it take to extract the PNG image from lets say, a 2mb PSD?
Probably about a tenth of a second.
That's pretty sick
This is great news - i hope people from other apps can contribute to this and expand upon it. I'm liking and using Photoshop less and less, but i feel like I HAVE to use it in this industry now. Whereas i'd rather use Sketch.
