Dribbble & Works In Progress

over 3 years ago from , Freelance Designer

So I recently posted my latest work in progress on dribbble, I personally want to start using it for this (after all the negative press it's been getting).

Simple screenshot of my Sketch Artboard, come to think of it I should of put my layers and groups in the shot.

Finally some attitude! Congrats, both for the shot and for trying to spread this across the internet.

I think it needed some - all these medium posts and no action! I would rather see a WIP than a finished project, can see their thinking.

But don't you think that all of WIP work will never reach front page or something, just because isn't flashy and animated?

Great initiative, I do wonder how much reach it will get — perhaps an idea to connect with some of the popular dribbblers?

Popular dribbblers are usually commercial teams. Most are using it as a marketing tool - yes it is good for this and we're all marketing ourselves essentially but it shouldn't be used to announce new features.

I agree with you on trying to reclaim it as a progress site. Good on you!

    We've gone one step further - https://dribbble.com/shots/2468769-WIP-Wireframe-very-early

We just wanted to poke a bit of fun at dribbble and how ridiculous it's getting. Especially with the commenting. (Dead horse, I know)

Haha, great going. Letting one of your "Illustrators" add a sketch document to her dribbble account xD — does a Illustrator actually uses Sketch for illustrating? I hope not :P

I haven't even been invited to Dribbble, so my opinion has little leverage for the Dribbble community, but might it be an idea to gather some people and only post wireframes+feedback request for a day? Giving the front page of Dribbble a wireframe look? Might initiate some thoughts/actions.

Maybe taking it further by providing a template for the "feedback request" so people can give more targeted feedback within the comment section.

I'm not sure what the difference is between posting "final" screenshots and work-in-progress to Dribbble. Technically, everything is a continuous WIP.

Spammers will still spam "nice shot!", no matter what the Dribbble post is.

I'm curious about the negative press Dribbble has been getting... I didn't hear anything about it. Can you guys enlighten me, please? I found Dribbble to be very inspiring, and I follow a lot of people just because their designs are eye candy to me, hehe. Cheers.
