I can't seem to get the 2x versions of any shot? Is it just me? Even on my own shots, where I know I uploaded an 800x600 shot.
Here's why: https://dribbble.com/shots/2438777-Holy-Shot
Note: Yes, the @2x link is gone, but just type the Z (zoom) shortcut to see enlarged images for HiDPI shots.
Much better implementation. I often forgot about the 2x link. Having a zoom mouse cursor will remind me to check out the higher resolution when available.
In addition to the Z hotkey, try clicking the shot's image to see the larger version.
It makes complete sense with the transition to HIDPI screens.
Dribbble don't want you to upload a 400x300 image. They want 800x600 all the time, therefore removing the option for smaller images encourages the uploading of higher quality shots.
Yeah, that makes sense. It was just very odd to have that suddenly disappear, since I didn't normally use "Z". I do follow Dan C., but for those that don't, it might be useful for Dribbble to do a quick "things updated" call out when it first loads. Just food for thought!
TL;DR - replaced by Z key.
I'm not seeing the link for @2x but pressing Z still seems to toggle it.
Hmm, wondering if Dribbble is trying to phase out 2x to encourage attachments.
Possibly. I've noticed in the past features go missing randomly during the day when they push other tiny updates. I think that's what is going on here.
click the image.
They replaced it with zoom by clicking on image.
I'd also recommend the HoverZoom Chrome extension.
