Really enjoying this...
For those interested, this didn't happen to me. Obviously happening to some folks, but my download was flawless.
Same for me.
I’ll gladly be first in line to say nasty things about the Creative Cloud app and Adobe’s update process, but this time I had no issues on two Macs.
Encountered this same issue on 1 of 2 machines. The effected one was in sleep mode and just needed a restart. The other machine which I powered up worked fine.
"...across the latest operating systems (OS X Yosemite and Windows 10)".
Hmm...
Photoshop can now filter your font menu by serif or sans-serif or a bunch of other choices. Be still, my heart!
Glad you enjoy! We added a ton of type features: classifications filter, font similarity, font favorites, and most recently used.
That is how CC 2015 should've looked when it was launched. Instead we got a rushed super-beta release that lacked familiar 2014 CC functions, introduced half-baked art-boards and bugs that in my case really messed up the workflow. But the worst thing is that it took so long to fix it.. :(
Really interested in the Collaborate function and how it works in practice. We encountered an issue with working remotely and collaborating on a shared style guide document during the creation of it. We have to manual control versioning but if collaborate is what it seems to be, this is huge.
For those who can't update, you aren't missing out on much. While there are some nice to have updates like the ability to customise the toolbar and SVG import, it's still the same old laggy PS.
The new recents panel seems is laggy as fuck, to keep things consistent, design space still isn't good enough for primary use, and settings sync is gone.
Edit: After restarting my computer, the tool icons are now retina optimised - something must have gone wrong during the update.
Oh, so Photoshop just added that convoluted type menu from Indesign…
A very heavily used feature for me seems to no longer work in this update - which is creating a marquee selection, and using the align tools to align an object within it. The object now just jumps to the center of the artboard.
What the hell.
I had no idea you could do this - so thanks. And yet it's working for me in the latest version, so, sorry
Are you trying it inside of an artboard?
It works like normal if you're using that method on a regular canvas, but not while inside of an artboard.
You're right - I only tested it in a single artboard.
It sure is hard to rename layers now. click-click ... click
Still not touching artboards, either. First impressions and all.
"Photoshop now delivers a great experience on touch devices"
Hmmm... iPad Pro app in the works?
God hear you!
Sigh!!! Adobe disappoint me once again. With so many features and so distinct, Adobe have become to Photoshop in the most chaotic piece of software that I ever used.
Photoshop should be the best Image editor, and nothing more.
Is that right?
Did they remove the "f" keyboard shortcut for switching screen modes?
No, it's still there.
If you hide the screen switcher icon--and have the keyboard shortcuts disabled for hidden tools (maybe you hid the overflow tool set as well?) F wont work--because it was a keyboard shortcut for that tool.
Dear Bradee,
3 Things I'd like to say:
Is there any way of forcing the update?
Finally! Although, I can't update at the moment. Update failed appears repeatedly. Still don't get why everything needs to go through the desktop CC app …
I was getting that error too. Try again if few hours ...
