Assets load really slowly for me, but everything else looks great!

Hey Alex, thanks for the feedback. Images are loading slow? Only on the homepage or on every single page?... Thanks again for your feedback

Every page. I am located in San Francisco, California if you want to test response times.

Likewise in Vancouver. It might be worth looking into some preloading if you're not already, or even just a little loading indicator. Otherwise a nicely conceived and executed portfolio. Your navigation is so simple that it would be very nice to see it unburied from the Menu item.

There is some optimisation that could be done with the image assets in the homepage and within the case studies.

On the homepage you may want to look into optimising and preloading the images to stop them being loaded on a hover event. Maybe load into the DOM so that they are cached and only show the one on hover, hiding the others.

Within the case studies there are a lot of images they are only being shown at 50% their actual size, maybe look at scaling the images into the size they are going to be displayed at to lessen the file size. ImageOptim is a great tool for Mac for compressing JPG and PNG images. Otherwise export from Photoshop at 70/80% JPGs.

In context I am from Australia an your case studies take 10s plus to load with a payload of over 2mb. This could be better.

Overall the design is solid, and it is a great portfolio.

    Love this.

UX issue: While hovering the different project titles, an arrow appears, which (to me) indicates I should interact with the preview image rather than click on the project title to learn more. I click on the image, nothing happens. Took me a bit to realize I was actually supposed to click on the project title.

Either give the user a "view more" button/link underneath the project description, or make the entire preview image linked to the project carousel as well, or possibly lose the arrow.

Just a suggestion! Really enjoy your portfolio.

Looks awesome Dennis! I think you really nailed the page transitions. There's just enough going on to feel like a nice fluid switch. Not jarring whatsoever.

I have a problem with Suisse serif works looking way too similar to Times New Roman. Netherlands type designers ugh!
