Great talk. I'm Sacha#2923 by the way :)
Awesome, can't wait to watch. They've done such an impressive job of porting the experience to phones.
Loved this talk, highly recommend seeing how far they came from where they started.
Hearthstone is truly a game built for this generation of mobile phones. It will define how a lot of games are built in the future beyond candy crush and such. Maybe even spawning its own category beyond what we currently know as mobile games.

You mean card games?
No, I was referring more to the interactions being so fitting for mobile. In Magic you had phases where you can play instants like counter spells. Hearthstone simplified that to a card you play that just plays itself automatically when the time is right. I think that type of thinking works really well for mobile.
It also feels like high quality studio games like Mario Kart haven't hit the mobile gaming scene yet.
Such a fun game, there are a lot of interesting UI challenges games designers get to solve. I'd to love try my hand at it someday.
In the mean time, add me on Hearthstone! I'm DesignUXUI #1914
Wow – for anyone who hasn't watched this yet, this talk is awesome. Loved hearing about how they found the initial "seed", the concept for the interface that ended up being carried through the whole game.
Must-watch shit.
