Just when we thought 3D printers were going out of vogue comes what is arguably the world's fastest 3D printer for regular consumers. Search for Readybox on Kickstarter. It successfully completed its funding. There are 4 days left from the time of this post.
Wait, who thought 3D printers were on the way out?
Just like the internet is on its way out, and smartphones are on their way out, and Facebook is on its way out, and...
We're stuck in the world's most boring time loop.
Clever comment Jordan. Maybe when 'it's on its way out' is the time to invest heavily. Just imagine investing in Apple when it was 'on its way out'.
This is spam.
Look at his post history, nothing but marketing.
This is pretty much well-disguised advertising, when a link could've been posted instead. Title is almost click-bait-y too.
I disagree - it attracted some valuable comments and a few upvotes. Surely spam gets no upvotes?
They say it's "consumer" but it's $2,499 on Kickstarter and will be $3,499 at retail.
3D printers are not on the way out, but they really need to come down a lot in price before they're "consumer".
Ed - Have you seen the price for a 4K Samsung TV or a MacPro or some of the top quad copters? Some consumers do spend this amount on the latest tech.
Yeah, very few. Average Joe is not going to spend $4k on a Mac Pro or a 4K TV. Neither should they, I admit, but the point is those are professional, high-end devices not intended for the mass market. Neither are 3D printers, IMO.
I haven't seen anything come even close of what Carbon3D is doing when it comes to 3D printing.
- 25 to 100x faster
- Smooth surface
- Choice of material elasticity, strength and more
And it looks way cooler!

Click bait it is. :)
Brian Howe - I disagree with your assessment! Surely click bait means you need something to click. My post seemed to attract some valuable comments.
Sorry about that man. Maybe I should just delete my comment.
