"Uninteruptable" - How do you let them know?

over 4 years ago from , Senior UX Designer at realestate.com.au

Having a helluva' time in our open plan office dealing with interruptions...

Other than relocating your work station, what methods do you guys use for letting others know you are 'uninterruptible'.

For an hour, or a day?

We are using Headphones that have the "Do not disturb" function, that functionality is just a button on the control unit that turn on a red light around your ears to let your colleagues know that you don't want to be disturbed. This kind of devices come also with the noise-canceling function that hush ambient sounds by creating frequencies that obviate the noise at your ear. make a quick search on internet, you will instantly find the feature I'm talking about

We have a huge calendar with what everyone is working on. If something comes up that's interrupting us from hitting a project milestone, we just point to it.

    Also, headphones in.
