Hmmm.. Not very attractive, is it..

Mind you, I've got a (much prettier to look at) Apple Watch on loan from work, and apart from being good at telling the time, has a great weather app and makes me feel bad for not getting enough exercise, I still prefer my cheap-ish, but awesome analog Nixon watch.

It's the right move, but I think that Google's doing a really mediocre job of capitalizing on an opportunity here. Everybody that was already paying attention was waiting for the Apple Watch to define the category, and people who weren't paying attention now are because of it, but the Apple Watch hasn't really revolutionized anything. I think that leaves an opening that Google could be taking advantage of, and grabbing some of the 'premium' perception that Apple usually has locked down.
