Looks good. Only thing i'd suggest is making the 'scroll' text and arrows fall into the background a little more. Without the visual weight of them there, the top welcome text would feel a little better.
Thanks Mike, totally agree with you, good call
dig the style, but very hard to find what's clickable.
I was actually going to say that very same thing. I was having a hard time (on certain blocks) finding out what I could click on. It would seem more intuitive to have the entire block (each block) be clickable... or at least ALL of the words on each block. Also, I feel as if when clicked, they should open up in a new window. Right now, as is, they all take you off of your site--this is most likely something you don't want to do, entirely, so quickly/abruptly.
Thanks for your suggestions; I've made some very quick amends to make the links stand out a bit more and provided some better hover states on the blocks so you know whats linked.
With regards to the target, I'm not a big fan of forcing a new window on the user when they click on something; prefer leaving that decision up to them :)
I had the same concern about the target as Jeremy, and its an issue I spent some time trying to answer when I was recently redesigning my own portfolio site. If you don't like the idea of forcing a new window on the user, then would you consider creating project specific pages? When I click on a project, its because I want to know more about it in detail, but I if I like it I still want to be able to navigate back to the rest of the designer's site. Alternatively, you could just ad some indication that the blocks link off your site.
I really like the feel overall and I think the stacked hierarchy works well.
This looks great, love the dark feel and use of blocks.
My only critique would be that the "Make an Enquiry" link could easily be missed. Perhaps this could be more prominent?
Thanks for the feedback Luke :) fair point about the link styles and making them more prominent, will look into that
Nice site. Overall the design feels fresh, but in general finding all the text to be way too large. I think taking down the font sizes a few notches will help with your whitespace, readability, and "hard to find what's clickable" issues.
Nice job!
