We've hit peak redesign.
There's already something similar made by Adam Whitcroft: Apaxy. I like more his version because it's all Apache, not a PHP script...
Yeah, for nginx I managed to port Apaxy with PHP kinda like what Edmundo did.
I didn't know about Adam's Apaxy, but it's really nice, I think I like it better too :P
I did something like this a few years ago.
For some reason I actually prefer the default apache listing over this version. I'm not sure why, the design just works ( even though its ugly )
I'd argue that familiarity has a lot to do with this.
It's a good idea, and using the favicon is nice and all, but I don't think you should've dropped the folder icons, they were actually useful.
Nice tip, I'll add the folder icons. Thanks :)
I just run a dev server with gulp, webpack or a vagrant box if it requires a bigger stack. Rarely do i see a directory index anymore.
I use this one: LocalTheme. It creates a grid of all your projects and you can sort by name or date, and also has a search field to find projects.
Could you provide a screenshot? The repo's image is broken.
It actually looks pretty ugly, but it has these filter features
