Ask DN - tools to record your phone

over 4 years ago from , Designer

I've been looking to record fun interactions I see on different apps, is there a tool (free or paid) that does that well?

Found this article http://www.apptamin.com/blog/capture-iphone-ipad-screen-video/. If you've used any and/or can recommend others, please share!

You can actually just use Quicktime.

Just plug in your phone to your laptop, then go to quick time and go to file->Screen recording. Then select your device.

I use Reflector if you want the phone graphic on there. I think that is the easiest and it now has its own recording in there.

Also check out Shou. Can be installed without Jailbreak to do the same thing but onboard the phone. Only issue is that it doesnt record 'down' states on btns or video playing in the app.

Thanks Jon! I'll start with Shou.TV (since is free :)) but will be checking out reflector if that doesn't work!

Just read that you can also:

        • Connect your iOS device to your Mac using a Lightning cable.
        • Open QuickTime Player.
        • Choose File > New Movie Recording.
        • In the window that appears, select your iOS device as the Camera and Microphone input source.
