I'm more designer than developer and I'm looking into the best ways to animate line drawing icons on a few of my projects at work. Animated gif, sprite sheets, svg? Also any js plugin recommendations (e.g. http://lazylinepainter.info) would be cool too!
I'm a big fan of pure svg animation because it's all encapsulated which means you can just hand someone the .svg file and it's ready to go!
Here's my favorite resource for making them: http://oak.is/thinking/animated-svgs
This is awesome! Thanks.
This is a great case study and a really interesting read. Thanks!

You can find metronome here: https://github.com/voxmedia/metronome
Wow! This is incredibly informative and exactly what I'm going for. Thanks!
Here's another example (with source code).
This is totally perfect! Thank you.
I've made recently an animation for a watchface concept #androidwear — all in Edge Animate — was fun ;) Watchface Concept link
Cool animation! Thanks for sharing.
Perhaps Edge Animate could be a good solution for you. It comes with Creative Cloud.
I haven't heard of this before. I'll look into it. Thanks for the recommendation!
I big fun of GSAP. It's very powerful animation tool. I created banner with GSAP animation. Script: https://github.com/OlgaMaraeva/GSAP-animation-banner Demo http://luckyframe74.com/demo/GSAP-animation-banner/ Hope you will enjoy GSAP too.
